Bentley J. Bender is an experienced attorney, born in Saint Louis, Missouri. He earned his Bachelor of Arts with honors in Political Science and Psychology from Tulane University in New Orleans. He subsequently attended Washington University School of Law in Saint Louis, where he obtained his Juris Doctorate in 2004, receiving accolades such as the Phillip Gallop Award, CALI Award for Academic Excellence, and recognition on the Dean’s List. Bentley further advanced his expertise by completing a Master of Laws in Taxation at Washington University in 2007.
Throughout his career, Bentley has cultivated a diverse legal practice encompassing trust litigation, tax and estate planning, bankruptcy, creditor’s rights, commercial litigation, and business law and transactions. His advanced degree in taxation, coupled with extensive experience, enables him to provide strategic counsel to clients navigating complex tax and estate planning issues with significant tax implications.
Bentley is licensed to practice in Illinois, Missouri, and Louisiana, as well as in several federal courts, including the Eastern District of Missouri, the Southern District of Illinois, the Central District of Illinois, and the Northern District of Illinois, in addition to the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals. He is an active member of multiple professional organizations, including the Illinois State Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Jackson County Bar Association, the Missouri Bar Association, the Bankruptcy Association of Southern Illinois, and Mensa.
